Badrinarain Temple At Batseri In Kinnaur - Himachal Pradesh

Badrinarain Temple located at Batseri is around 9 km from Sangla and 19 kms from Chitkul in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh. The shrine is located on the banks of Baspa River. As per local belief, Badrinarain is the husband of Mathi Devi of Chitkul and the elder brother of Bhagavan Vishnu.

The present Badrinarain Temple is a very modern temple which was built to replace a 300 year old shrine entirely gutted in a fire accident.

The temple is constructed out of wood and is profusely decorated with myriad themes.

The original murti worshipped for hundreds of year is still worshipped in temple as the fire could not destroy it.

The murti is a delicately crafted, 8 inch silver image of Badrinarain.

Batseri is noted for its charming walks and breathtaking views of mountains.
