Bhimakali Temple is located on the banks of the Beas River (by the bridge that leads towards Kullu) in Mandi town, Himachal Pradesh. The temple is very modern and is noted for its red and white paint. The geometrically patterned temple houses a murti of Bhimakali Devi. She is the Kuldevi of the Bushahr dynasty.
The most famous Bhimakali temple in Himachal Pradesh is located in Sarahan.
It is believed that Bhimakali is a powerful manifestation of Mother Goddess Shakti and her arrival in Sarahan ushered in peace and prosperity. It is said that she assumed the form of the powerful Bhima to subjugate demons in the region.
