Bijata Devta Temple At Chaupal In Himachal Pradesh

Bijata Devta Temple at Chaupal is located around 75 kms from Theog in Himachal Pradesh. The temple consists of two rectangular structures. The shrine is made in the familiar wood and stone architectural style of Himachal. Both the temple structures have slate roof, with the caves covered with planks. Wooden fringes, like bobbins, hang along the planks lower borders.

The verandah is wide and runs along three sides of the building. The fourth side is the façade, beyond which is the main gate.

The site is especially remarkable for its picturesque surroundings. All around the temple are forests of deodar, and in the distance snow covered peaks of the mighty Himalayas.
