Kodannur Sastha Temple Near Thrissur – Sasthamkadavu Sastha Temple

Kodannur Sastha Temple, also known as Sasthamkadavu Sastha temple, is located at Parallam village around 5 km from Palaykal on the Irinjalakuda road in Thrissur district, Kerala. The main murti worshipped in the temple is Sastha or Ayyappa. The murti is swayambhu – of divine appearance. There is a sankalpam that the murti has Saraswati chaitanyam and therefore it is Vidyakaran. The deity faces west.

The Upa Devata worshipped in the temple is Ganapathi.

The temple participates in the famous Arattupuzha pooram.

The festival held here is known as Padahadi as the importance in the festival is given to musical instruments.

The Prathishta dinam in the temple is held on the Chothi Nakshatra in Medam month.

The temple belonged to Kuruvattanavu Mana. From 1974 the temple is managed by Kshethra Kshema Samiti.
