Kodungoor Devi Temple is located at Vazhoor village in Kottayam district, Kerala. Kodungoor Devi temple festival 2021 date is March 27. The most important festival in the temple is held on pooram nakshatra in Meenam month. The 10-day festival is famous for Kavadiyattam.
Even though the shrine is a Bhagavathi or Devi temple, the main murtis worshipped are Keerathan and Kerathi – Shiva and Parvati who are in Keeratha form.
The deity faces east. The Upa Devatas worshiped in the temple are Ganapathy, Sastha, Nagaraja, Nagayakshi, Naga Chamundi, and two rakshas.
The deity worshipped in the temple is the kudumba paradevatha of Meenachil Karthakkanmar. It is believed that Goddess arrived here atop the traditional umbrella of Meenachil Karthakkanmar.
