Kolakkottiri Ayyappan Temple is located at Thiruvilwamala on the Chungam - Kuthampully road in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is one among the 108 Ayyappa temples in Kerala. The temple is known as Kolathupalli Kavu in Ayyappan Thiyattu pattu which gives the names of Ayyappa temples.
The temple is also known as Eravathodiyil Odittakottala Temple.
The murti worshipped in the temple is in the sankalpam of Vilwadrinathan.
It is believed that the murti in the temple was brought from Kolakkottiri and consecrated here. The murti is nearly 2 feet tall.
The temple was ransacked and destroyed by Tipu Sultan and his army. The temple was rebuilt after this barbarian attack.
