Mattancherry Pazhayannur Bhagavathy Temple In Kochi - Kerala

Mattancherry Pazhayannur Bhagavathy Temple is located between the Mattancherry Palace and the Paradesi Synagogue in Kochi – Ernakulam in Kerala. Goddess Bhagavathi worshipped in the temple is considered to be Vaishnava Durga. Some people consider her as Goddess Annapurna. The temple has a Kannadi Prathishta and the deity faces east.

The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Shiva, Ganapathi, Sastha, Sri Krishna and Brahmarakshas.

No festival is held at Mattancherry Pazhayannur Bhagavathy temple.

During the rule of Sakthan Thampuran the temple was very prosperous. In that period in Karkidakam month, 41 day Ganapathi Homam was held in the temple. It is said that 12,000 coconuts were used in the ritual.
