Kottayil Bhagavathi temple is located at Thrikkaipetta on Kalpetta – Meppadi road in Meppadi village in Wayanad district, Kerala. The main deities worshipped in the temple are Shiva and Goddess Bhadrakali. The deities face west.
The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Sri Rama, Goddess Mahalakshmi, Ayyappan, Ganapathi, Vettaikaran, Guligan, Karimughan and Karivalli. It is believed that Karimughan and Karivalli are Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
The shrine is located atop a mountain inside a private estate. Thousands devotees climb to the shrine in mid April for a one day ritual.
