Tripura Sundari Temple At Naggar – Himachal Pradesh

Tripura Sundari temple is located at Naggar, 20 kms from Kullu town and 25 kms from Manali, in Himachal Pradesh. This 16th century temple bears some resemblance to the Hadimba Devi temple at Manali.

Goddess Tripura Sundari is worshipped in the form of an ashtadhatu murti. The temple also has murtis of Ganesha, Brahma, Lakshmi Narayana, Shiva, and Parvati.

Every May the Sharhi Yatra is held in the temple. During the big annual fair, processions of deities from local villages arrive here to pay respects to Goddess Tripura Sundari.

Naggar Tripura Sundari temple is made of wood and built in the pagoda style on a stone platform. The temple has three storeys and three roofs, the bottom two being square and the topmost a canopy with a kalasha. The effect is somewhat web-like, and believed to be the design created by the Goddess herself.
