Potara Kund is a famous water body (small pond) associated with Bhagavan Sri Krishna in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located 500 meters left of the famous Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple. Potara means clothes worn by a newborn baby.
It is believed that when Krishna was born that rainy night, his clothes were washed in this Kund. The kund fills with water to full during rainy season. There are many steps on all four sides of the kund that lead to the center.
During summer and winter the water level is low in the kund.
