Kanayannur Ganapathy Temple On Ernakulam – Piravom Road

Kanayannur Ganapathy temple is located at Kanayannoor village on Ernakulam – Piravom road in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The shrine is also known as Kanayannur Kovilakam Sri Maha Ganapathi Temple. The main murti worshipped in the temple is Ganapati or Ganesha.

The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Pazhayannur Bhagavathi, Narasimha, Sri Rama Pattabhishekam and Nataraja.

During ancient times after the Ariyittu Vazhcha of Kochi kings were performed, they used to first visit the temple and take the blessings of Ganapathi. The temple belonged to Kanayannur Kovilakam.

There is a big pond near the temple.

The temple is currently managed by a private person.

A Sastha temple is located near Kanayannur Ganapathy temple. The sastha worshipped in the temple is along with Purna and Pushkala. The temple also belonged to Kanayannur Kovilakam. Currently the shrine is managed by NSS Karayogam.
