Thricherpuram Shankara Narayana Temple – Festival

Thricherpuram Shankara Narayana temple is located at Padimon on the Ranni - Mallapally Road in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shankaranarayana – a combined form of Shiva and Bhagavan Vishnu. The annual Shivratri festival is of great importance at Tricherpuram temple and is observed in February or March (Malayalam Kumbha Masam).

This is a very small temple located amidst sylvan surroundings. A Shivling is worshipped in one Sreekovil. The other sanctum has a standing murti of Bhagwan Vishnu. There are no major structures other than the sreekovil and the namaskara mandapam. There are a couple of Upa Devata shrines. The temple also has a theertha kulam or pond.

This Shivratri festival is observed with tantric pujas and rituals. Various types of abhishekam, pujas and rituals are part of the annual festival. Ramayana Masam, Vishu and Vrischika Masam are of importance here.
